5182 aluminum sheet belongs to the Al-Mg alloy. It has good corrosion resistance,

excellent weldability, good cold workability, and has medium strength.


5182 alloy is often used for the can lids, outer plates and decks of ships, car body panels,

etc.We can produce 5182 aluminum sheets in all tempers according to customer needs.


Typical Thickness


Range: 0.8 mm – 1.5 mm


This thickness allows the material to meet crash performance, dent resistance, and formability

requirements.

Sedan doors: Typically 0.9 – 1.2 mm

SUV/truck doors: May go up to 1.4 – 1.5 mm for increased rigidity


Common Tempers



O (Annealed):

Used when maximum formability is required (e.g. for deep-drawing operations).

Very soft, ideal for stretch forming.

H111:

Slightly strain-hardened; offers a balance of strength and formability.

Commonly used in stamped automotive body panels.

H32:

Moderately strain-hardened and partially annealed.

Provides higher yield strength and better dent resistance than O or H111.

Used when surface rigidity and stiffness are more critical.
